Oregon sunstone, the state gem of Oregon is a sparkling variety of labradorite feldspar found in the state’s ancient lava fields. Tiny bits of copper inside the stone create a glittery effect called aventurescence, or schiller, that makes each gem shimmer in the light. Colors range from soft yellow and peach to vivid pink, red and green. Some stones even contain multiple colors!
