This year our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the RMH marks 50 years of care! The original ICU first opened its doors in 1972 with just six beds. Today, it’s split into four pods with a total capacity of 42 beds, and is staffed by a multidisciplinary team who has cared for thousands of patients from Victoria and around the world.
