SALT LAKE CITY — After a recent Reuters report said OpenAI is planning to release a browser that will challenge Google Chrome, Utah’s Office of Artificial Intelligence is weighing in.
The timing isn’t subtle. Perplexity recently unveiled Comet, an AI-first browser built to make search feel conversational and context-aware.
Perplexity AI, the fast-rising search startup backed by Jeff Bezos, Nvidia and SoftBank, just launched its first web browser. Dubbed Comet, this AI-powered browser is designed to challenge Google Chrome ’s dominance, which still commands over 68% of the global browser market.
