Early March can bring a boatload of various weather conditions to Michigan. This week is going to live up to the changeable, stormy reputation of March weather in Michigan. Today and Tuesday will be much warmer than an early March day typically is in Michigan.

Southeast Michigan is facing several weather risks tonight into early Wednesday, including the potential for damaging wind, large hail, heavy rain, and even an isolated tornado, but the exact area that the severe weather will hit is dependent on a warm front.

Severe storms will impact parts of Michigan while other areas will see snow and ice.

There is a tough snow forecast for this weekend. The timing of snow has high confidence, but there is low confidence on a narrow band of several inches of snow.

Strong to possibly severe thunderstorms are expected across Southeast Michigan, beginning Tuesday night. These storms will last overnight and even into Wednesday morning as a powerful storm system moves through the Great Lakes.
