YouTube TV and Paramount have agreed on a multi-year deal to keep CBS, MTV and the other 100 plus channels owned by the network on the platform.

After three days of negotiating, YouTube TV has announced a new deal with Paramount. The agreement resolves a carriage dispute that threatened to make all Paramount-owned channels go dark on the streaming service.

In an eleventh-hour agreement late Thursday night, YouTube TV reached what it called a "short-term extension" with Paramount to keep channels such as CBS, Comedy Central and MTV on its subscription streaming service after access to them was set to go dark following failed negotiations around a contract renewal.

The two media companies announced a new deal Saturday night. Paramount's streaming service will be offered as an add-on to YouTube TV customers.

Paramount and YouTube TV have reached a new carriage deal, averting a blackout of programming of the former’s sports, entertainment and news networks — including CBS, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.

On Wednesday, YouTube TV announced that “despite our best efforts, we’ve been unable to reach a fair deal with Paramount to keep their channels on YouTube TV and their channels may be unavailable tomorrow,” just weeks before March Madness and the Masters are set to be broadcast on CBS and other Paramount channels.
