Ukraine to give revised peace plans to US as Kyiv readies for more talks with its coalition partners
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine was expected to give its latest peace proposals to U.S. negotiators Wednesday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, a day ahead of his urgent talks with leaders and officials from about 30 other countries supporting Kyiv’s effort to end the war with Russia on acceptable terms.
The European Union and Ukraine have drawn up a to-do list that will allow Kyiv to make technical progress on its bid to join the EU despite official talks being blocked by Hungary, saying EU accession is a “key element” of Ukraine’s security guarantees.
EADaily, December 14th, 2025. Last night, the Ukrainian Armed Forces massively attacked the territory of Russia. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported 141 downed drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian leader said Thursday that there was still no common understanding on the land issue and that Ukrainians should vote on any territorial concessions in a referendum.
Ukrainian forces appear to have regained ground in and around the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kupiansk, giving Kyiv a much-needed victory amid setbacks elsewhere on the battlefield and in peace negotiations.
US and Ukrainian negotiators will again meet for high-stakes peace talks -- this time in Berlin -- as disagreements persist over territorial control and security guarantees and as Russia intensifies attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure sites.
