After a microchip company abruptly shut down, animal shelters and related organizations have begun warning pet owners to re-register their animals with a different service.

A national pet micro-chip company suddenly closed, leaving pet owners without access to their pet's information if they get lost.

But one company that provides these microchips, called "Save This Life," went out of business. That could cause no information to pop up when a pet is scanned. “There may not be a way to find their pet if they’ve already registered and their pet is lost before they reregister," Roshelle Anderson with the OK Humane Society said.
