Karen Read is asking a judge to order the return of her 2021 Lexus SUV and cell phones, which remain in state police custody more than a month after her acquittal in the death of Boston police officer John O’Keefe.

A lawyer for Read, Steven C. Boozang, said in the filing that the defense tried to “negotiate the return of the listed property with ADA Adam Lally in late June” following the verdict, but had not heard back. State Police has possession of the property, he said.

With her high-profile criminal case concluded, Karen Read is now pushing for the return of her personal property, including three cell phones and a Lexus SUV valued at approximately $60,000, all of which were seized by the Massachusetts State Police.
