Canada said last week it plans to recognize the a Palestinian state at a meeting of the United Nations in September, ratcheting up pressure on Israel as starvation spreads in Gaza.

A CC-130J Hercules aircraft was used to airdrop 21,600 pounds of critical humanitarian aid into Gaza in support of Global Affairs Canada, the government said in a statement.
