RALEIGH, N.C. -- Frederik Andersen made 21 saves, and the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Washington Capitals 4-0 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Second Round at Lenovo Center on Saturday.

But yeah, to answer the question, it was ugly. Objectively ugly. There is sport for the aesthetically minded; there is sport for the casual observer; and then there was whatever Capitals-Hurricanes, Game 3, delivered to those of us who watched it play out on Saturday night.

Frederik Andersen recorded his first postseason shutout in five years as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals 4-0.
