As much as President Donald Trump wants Greenland to become part of the United States, Greenlanders do not want to join the U.S. So says a poll conducted for Greenlandic newspaper Sermitsiaq and Denmark’s Berlingske,

President Trump is doubling down on his efforts to acquire Greenland from Denmark, and now the Danish government is pushing back.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday that President Donald Trump's plan to buy Greenland was "not a joke." Earlier this month, Trump said that U.S. economic security depends on controlling Greenland and the Panama Canal.
