Bangladesh has asked India to stop ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from making "false and fabricated" comments while she is in the country, its foreign ministry said.

Dhaka said it lodged a strong protest with India over “false and fabricated comments” being made” by Hasina as this is “instigating instability in Bangladesh”

The development comes a day after Hasina's speech on Wednesday night in which she called upon the countrymen to organise a resistance against the current regime.

A mob in Bangladesh has demolished the Dhaka family home of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and properties owned by some of her relatives. Leaders of Hasina's Awami League party were also targeted by the mob.

The interim government in Bangladesh has accused ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina of triggering the demolition at Dhanmondi-32, condemning the act as "unexpected and undesirable". In a statement, the Chief Adviser's Press Wing said,
