Gayle King is pushing back on what she calls “greatly exaggerated” rumors about her future at CBS following the renewal of her contract.

Gayle King signed a new deal with CBS News and will remain as the star co-host of its marquee morning show after rumors of her looming exit emerged last fall.

Rumors of my demise were inaccurate and greatly exaggerated,” 71-year-old King quipped in a statement confirming the news.

Shawna Thomas is departing as executive producer of CBS Mornings, as the show has been expected to get an overhaul under new owner Paramount Skydance.
