A Texas Historical Marker honoring victims of the deadly 1919 hurricane was rededicated at Corpus Christi's North Beach History Plaza.

Nueces County opened a new animal care facility today with 32 dog kennels and 22 cat kennels in a major upgrade for local pets.

County officials gave 3NEWS an exclusive first look inside the new $3 million-dollar center, which they said will improve equipment and capacity for stray animals.

The new initiative which begins this week was started by Judge Timothy McCoy after seeing a spike in weapon possession cases and gun violence involving teens.
