According to Cal Fire, there have been a total of 5,118 wildfires in California so far in 2026. These blazes have collectively burned 302,226 acres. Of those, the Bug Fire in Lassen and Sierra counties covered the most land area — 93,733 acres, Cal Fire said. It burned 80,916 acres in Nevada and 12,817 acres in California.
