Michigan State has a new head football coach and, now, a $1 billion fundraising initiative, “FOR SPARTA," details of which were announced Tuesday.

Collin Campbell, a 2026 four-star offensive tackle, signed with the Spartans on Friday. He is the highest-rated member of the class and stuck with Michigan State despite coach Jonathan Smith being fired on Sunday and Pat Fitzgerald hired on Monday.

Michigan State got a GVSU defensive tackle transfer to cancel his official visit to West Virginia and instead go to East Lansing.

The university is aiming to provide the athletics department with resources and facilities to allow Michigan State to compete at the highest levels.

Alessio Milivojevic, the redshirt freshman quarterback, who started Michigan State's final four games, announced his intention to return in 2026 on Instagram with the caption "Run it back."

There are some similarities between Jonathan Smith and Pat Fitzgerald, but also stark differences. Fitzgerald appears to be a better fit for MSU.
