Russian President Vladimir Putin on landed in New Delhi on Thursday evening at the Palam airport in New Delhi.

Sources told PTI that over 220 flights, including arrivals and departures, were cancelled at Delhi airport, while more than 100 flights were cancelled at Bangalore airport. At Hyderabad airport, over 90 flights were affected.

The disruptions continued for a fourth consecutive day with over 500 IndiGo flight cancellations on Friday alone. Arrivals and departures from the Delhi airport were hit the most with all IndiGo flights cancelled till midnight.

Weather authorities say Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and Cuddalore districts may record heavy rain at isolated spots.

Putin's visit also carries geopolitical weight, coming just months after the United States imposed 50% tariffs on Indian imports.
