Chicago Bears rookie Luther Burden III remains proud of the proverbial chip he carries on his shoulder. “Everybody who passed up on me has got to pay.”

The Chicago Bears kicked off their rookie minicamp on Friday at Halas Hall, and the rookie jersey numbers were officially revealed. Second-round wide receiver Luther Burden III chose No. 87 -- but it wasn't his first choice.

Burden III wore the No. 3 at both Mizzou and in high school at Cardinal Ritter College Prep. The No. 3 he has worn throughout his career holds personal significance, as it’s a tribute to his namesake, per Sports Illustrated 's Joey Van Zummeran.
