Boeing is being hit with its second strike in less than a year after 3,200 hourly workers walked off their jobs building military aircraft.

It’s not clear how many metro-east jobs are impacted by the strike. Boeing moved 150 jobs from facilities throughout St. Louis and expected to create 150 new jobs for engineers, mechanics and other staff once the facility became fully operational.

Boeing's defence operations faced disruptions on Monday as thousands of union workers went on strike, halting assembly lines for fighter jets and missile systems. The strike began after members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 837 overwhelmingly rejected Boeing's latest contract offer.
