The National Weather Service warned on Friday evening that a winter mix could still cause dangerous road conditions and an increased risk for power outages for parts of north Alabama.

As a wave of cold weather brought snow and sleet to the Deep South, Alabama residents focused on safety as well as fun.

Freezing rain, sleet, and snow are impacting much of Central Alabama Friday morning. The CBS 42 Storm Team says freezing rain could accumulate up to 0.25″ of ice to roads, and bridges along and north to east of Birmingham.
