Drivers in some states have been advised to delay any unnecessary travel as the country celebrates Thanksgiving.

Strong, gusty winds are expected for New Jersey through Friday with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph as forecasters continue to track the potential for a winter storm early next week. Winds will increase around midday Friday, with the strongest gusts occurring during the afternoon hours.
Michigan’s Alger County is expected to see snow accumulations between 4 and 13 inches of snow and hazardous conditions that will affect holiday travel, according to a blizzard warning for the area that is in effect until 7 p.m. Eastern time as of reporting.
