Drivers in some states have been advised to delay any unnecessary travel as the country celebrates Thanksgiving.
On Thursday at 2:06 p.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Saturday at 1 a.m. for Northern Erie.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A significant winter storm will be moving into eastern Iowa over the next 24-36 hours. A Winter Storm Warning goes into effect Friday night through Sunday morning.

A winter storm warning has been issued for the Twin Cities metro as the first snow storm of the cold season approaches. The storm will bring rain and snow to the state and parts of the region Tuesday into early Wednesday.
A weather system that is moving across the country is bringing winter conditions to Ontario and Quebec starting Wednesday and into Thursday, with heavy snow and high winds expected.
