Wiera Gran (born Dwojra Grynberg) began her career in the 1930s at a young age - by the end of the decade, she was famous throughout Poland.
"Wiera Gran described a particular scene she remembered from the ghetto," Tuszynska told Warsaw's Talk FM radio. "She said it was the morning of the last day of July or the first day of August 1942.
