In a new op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal, US Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins outlined a new strategy she says will mitigate the spread of bird flu and lower the price of eggs — a signature issue of the 2024 election.

U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says the federal government will spend up to $1billion to combat bird flu, and hopefully lower the rising price of eggs.

Amid rising egg prices, USDA will invest $1 billion to combat the avian flu through a multi-pronged approach but will not authorize a vaccine at this time.
