Police fatally shot an armed suspect who allegedly barricaded himself with a patient and security guard at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Thursday night, police said.

NEW YORK — Mayor Zohran Mamdani remarked for the first time Friday on a pair of shootings at the hands of NYPD officers — nearly 12 hours after the dramatic incidents unfolded.

Police identified the man as Dmitriy Zass, 37, of Great Kills. NYPD officials said Zass was fatally wounded after he was involved in a car crash and then pointed an imitation gun at responding officers.

A man who fired at police during a road rage incident in the West Village was shot and killed by officers Thursday night, according to law enforcement sources.

Chez Fray’s parents have mantained that their son was not a threat to anyone when cops shot him in Far Rockaway last month.

The mayor and his allies indicated NYPD officers would still respond to emergency calls like the ones on Thursday that left two people dead at the hands of the police.
