Lane Kiffin might be helping Alabama win another championship with expected move that could flip the CFP bracket upside down
After all, Kiffin was the OC when Alabama won the national championship during the 2015-2016 season. And with expectations that Kiffin takes over as HC of the LSU Tigers, he could be helping Alabama's chances of winning another in 2025-2026.
Coaches have always done whatever they wanted for the sake of career enhancement. Don’t resent players for being free to do the same.
Kiffin is one of college football's top coaches. He has won 55 games in six years in Oxford and this season has guided Ole Miss to what is all but certain to be its first College Football Playoff appearance.
By all indications it looks like Lane Kiffin is leaving the Ole Miss Rebels for the LSU Tigers. While the decision was being made, his daughter Landry Kiffin was partying all weekend in Nashville, Tennessee. Landry, 20, is an Ole Miss student and the reason her dad stayed back in 2022.

Kiffin's tenure in Oakland was filled with tension between Kiffin and Davis, nearly instantly. Ahead of the 2007 NFL Draft, Kiffin apparently begged Davis to select receiver Calvin Johnson. Davis picked quarterback JaMarcus Russell instead, and the former LSU quarterback is regarded as one of the biggest busts in NFL history.
Tulane 's Jon Sumrall has become the clear top target for Florida, although he's also on the radar for both Ole Miss and LSU as a potential backup option depending on what happens with Kiffin. Sumrall plans to make a final decision regarding his future Sunday.
“My two calls will be the closest to that advice to what my dad would say to do in these things, and that will be coach (Pete) Carroll and coach (Nick) Saban. “Kind of wish my dad was here.” Lane Kiffin, of course, was Saban’s offensive coordinator at Alabama after he served under Carroll at USC.
