Braden Brown dominated host Scecina (5-4) with a 381-yard, four-touchdown rushing performance to lead 2A No.7 Triton Central (8-1) to a strong win over its former Indiana Crossroads Conference rival. Brown started his night with matching 38-yard TD runs to start each half, then put the game out of reach with scoring runs of 83 and 73 yards.
Faith Christian opted to kickoff, and with a squabbling kick from linebacker Luke Woodman, the ball bounced awkwardly off the grass and was smothered by freshman Seth Butterbrodt who was credited with a touchdown. It was a memorable moment for a season that ends Friday, win or lose.
For the past three Sundays the IHSAA has announced postseason matchups for its fall sports tournaments. It was tennis and soccer on Sept. 28, volleyball on Oct. 5, and this past Sunday, the sanctioning body for Indiana high school sports released the matchups for the upcoming football tournament.
The Indiana high school football postseason is right around the corner, and sectional pairings were revealed with the Oct. 12 IHSAA draw.
The rest of these sectional games are all October 24. In class 4A sectional 24, Reitz plays Central at the Bowl. Heritage Hills travels to Washington. Boonville hosts Jasper, and Bosse is at Harrison, so the Bulldogs and Warriors will play back-to-back weeks, because they play this coming Friday, in week 9!
Concord and Plymouth football are getting a chance to play a regular season game Friday in a spot usually reserved only for the state finals.
