According to Nintendo, the company has sold over 10 million Switch 2 units as of the end of September. Meanwhile, sales for the Switch 1 are creeping closer to those of the Nintendo DS, the latter of which is the company's best-selling hardware ever--at least, for now.

The new official Switch 2 controllers are already sold out at US retailers like Amazon, but fortunately, you can grab them today for $89.99 at Woot and avoid disappointment. Not only does Woot actually have any of the little pads in stock, but they're $10 off too. That's a real rarity for Nintendo hardware.

It's been an excellent first few months for the Nintendo Switch 2, then. Sure, it's not offering the sheer graphical prowess of its competitors, but it's a monumental improvement over the original Switch and most contemporary handheld games consoles.

The Switch 2 having a successful start, despite its relatively higher cost, was no surprise given the pent-up demand for the console. But the "next test" for the console will be the holiday season when the potentially more price-conscious shoppers look for something to buy, according to one analyst.
