A member of the City of San Angelo's Animal Services Division is being lauded as a hero after he swam roughly 60 yards in Lake Nasworthy to save an injured baby deer from drowning.

The baby deer was panting from struggling to swim. Phillip says the group found a grassy spot to drop the fawn safely on land and hoped the mom would find the deer.
