The University of Arkansas women's basketball team played sloppy on both ends of the court and trailed for 32 minutes in a 78-63 loss at SMU as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge on Thursday at Moody Coliseum in Dallas.
The Razorbacks cut a 14-point deficit to four late in the third quarter before SMU (4-5) closed the period on a 6-1 spurt and stayed in control throughout the fourth. SMU’s Sahnya Jah scored 22 points, and Tyi Skinner added 17 points and 10 assists.

Missed opportunities doom Arkansas women in loss to SMU
Kelsi Musick and the Arkansas Razorbacks had an opportunity to get back on track on Thursday. What ensued was a game full of missed opportunities for the Razorbacks.
SMU took advantage of out-of-control drives by Arkansas early in the fourth, and it went ahead 66-52 with a 6-0 run to start the quarter. The Razorbacks did not score until the 6:19 mark of the period when Bonnie Deas made a layup as part of her 6-point, 14-rebound performance.

Arkansas women’s basketball will celebrate its 50th season in 2025-26. The program was founded in 1976 and has accumulated 888 wins since its first game against North Arkansas CC on Nov. 19, 1976. The Razorbacks’ first win came on Dec. 1, 1976 against John Brown, 92-87.
