Amazon is ending its program allowing members to share shipping benefits with people outside of their household, instead shifting to household-only sharing.

Amazon will end a long-running program that allowed Prime members to share free shipping perks with people outside their households, according to an update on the company’s website. The change takes effect Oct. 1, when the Prime Invitee program will be phased out.

The retail giant is phasing out a little-known feature that let subscribers share free shipping with friends and family outside their household.
