A team of Spanish archaeologists has found 60 mummies buried in the tomb of Amenhotep-Huy in the ancient Egyptian city of Luxor.

Egyptian archaeologists have discovered two red granite statues in Luxor, one of Tutankhamun's grandfather Amenhotep III who reigned about 3,350 years ago, Egypt's antiquities chief said Tuesday.

It needed some restoration work, but would go on display in a new museum devoted to the family of Tutankhamun's father, the Pharaoh Akhenaten, said Ahmed Sharaf, head of Egypt's museum department.

A colossal 3000-year-old red granite head of Amenhotep III, the grandfather of Tutankhamun, has been discovered in Luxor, Egypt's Culture Minister Farouk Hosni said on Sunday.
