Updating maps of Southern California show where wildfires, including the Palisades, Eaton and Hughes fires, are burning across Los Angeles.

A fresh California wildfire ignited north of Los Angeles Wednesday during "critical" fire weather and triggered evacuations as it quickly exploded in size across two counties on Wednesday — and forecasters warned conditions would worsen overnight.

President Trump landed in Los Angeles Friday afternoon to tour damage from the devastating Palisades Fire, one of two deadly wildfires fires this month, greeting Gov. Gavin Newsom who was waiting at the bottom of the steps to Air Force One.

The president was greeted by Gov. Newsom in L.A. Friday afternoon for a brief trip where he announced that the state will receive full federal backing to rebuild.

President Donald Trump, who has hurled criticism at state and local leaders over what he calls faulty water- and forest-management policies that he says contributed to the region's deadly wildfires, is expected to visit Los Angeles Friday to get a firsthand look at the destruction.
