The Seattle Seahawks have found their next offensive coordinator. After firing former University of Washington Huskies play-caller Ryan Grubb following his lone season in the NFL, the Seahawks are officially moving in another direction.

Seattle looked to an NFC foe to find its next offensive coordinator. The Seahawks are hiring Saints assistant Klint Kubiak as their next OC, per NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.

Klint Kubiak, who has previously served as offensive coordinator of the Vikings and Saints, will serve in the same role for the Seahawks, a source told ESPN.

The Seahawks are planning to hire Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak for the same position in Seattle, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The Seattle Seahawks, in their search for a new offensive coordinator, could employ a rather unusual tactic when it comes to the position. NFL insider Albert Breer is reporting the Seahawks are considering splitting the position between two coaches – a run game coordinator paired with a passing game coordinator.

In Seattle, Kubiak will join a team that has a talented offense with quarterback Geno Smith and an electric supporting cast that includes receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba, D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. But coach Mike Macdonald was reportedly seeking a playcaller who could boost Seattle’s rushing attack, which finished just 28th in yards per game.
