Lunar New Year celebrations are coming up, marking the beginning of the year of the snake. What to know about the holiday how it's different from Chinese New Year.

According to the Chinese lunar calendar, 2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake, symbolizing wisdom, intuition and mystery. This year’s Lunar New Year begins on January 29, for the 16-day Spring Festival also known as Chinese New Year.

Long before streaming, social media and cable’s Food Network, my older sister Pam, like myself, was a fan of watching the kitchen celebrities of PBS-TV.
