The Justice Department is sending a surge of federal prosecutors to Minneapolis for immigration and fraud enforcement on Wednesday.

Many of the clashes between agents and protesters are taking place just blocks from where an ICE officer fatally shot Renee Good last week.

Around 1,000 additional US Customs and Border Protection agents are expected to deploy to Minneapolis, according to two federal law enforcement sources, as tensions between federal law enforcement and local counterparts flare after an ICE-involved shooting last week left a mother of three dead.

Democratic Rep. Robin Kelly of Illinois formally introduced three articles of impeachment against Noem on Wednesday, including obstruction of Congress, violation of public trust, and self-dealing. Seventy members of Congress—all Democrats—are co-sponsoring the articles of impeachment, according to a press release from Kelly’s office.
