Southeast Michigan tornado confirmed as area gets hit with heavy rain, flash flooding
Southeast Michigan has borne the brunt of today’s heavy rain. Some areas in Macomb County were reporting more than 3 inches of rain by mid-afternoon. A Flash Flood warning was issued, and photos and videos on social media showed cars stranded on some waterlogged roads, with the water reaching up to the top of the wheels.
Tornado confirmed in Fraser as severe storms swept across southern Michigan
At 7:14 p.m., NWS reported that severe thunderstorms were located along a line in south central Michigan, extending from near Brooklyn to near Tecumseh to the Blissfield area, bringing 60 mph winds that were expected to damage roofs, siding and trees.
