Meta began notifying thousands of employees of layoffs on Wednesday, starting with Singapore staff at 4 am local time. The cuts implement an April commitment to reduce headcount by ~8,000 roles.
The social media giant will also shift 7,000 staffers into new AI-focused roles and eliminate 6,000 open positions.
