Almost two months removed from the Toronto Blue Jays reaching their first World Series in 30 years, longtime president and CEO Mark Shapiro reached a contract extension with team ownership.

The Toronto Blue Jays have renewed president and chief executive officer Mark Shapiro's contract for five years, the team announced Friday.
