Over 1,000 firefighters continue to battle a wildfire in California that has over 72,000 acres, prompted evacuation orders and caused three injuries, according to officials.

The blaze injured three people, put hundreds under evacuation orders and threatened 460 structures, officials said.

The Gifford fire has burned nearly 40,000 acres of rugged hillside in Los Padres National Forest. Three people have been injured, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
