NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Roads Transit will reduce services due to winter weather. On Saturday, Jan. 11, snow routes will go into effect. HRT will operate on limited, hourly bus service while the Tide light rail and Elizabeth River Ferry will run every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

As a winter storms works its way toward Hampton Roads, local leaders have announced closures and cancellations for weekend activities. Much of the region is under a winter storm warning through Saturday morning.

To start off the new year, Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) said they are increasing security on all transit modes.

Hampton Roads Transit is adding enhanced security on all transit methods, including The Tide light rail and its 11 stations in Norfolk.
