Miami is emphasizing physicality this season, but speedy running back De’Von Achane is still in line for plenty of touches.

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill suggests removing running back De'Von Achane from third-down plays. Hill believes Achane lacks the power necessary for short-yardage situations on third down. He recommends using running backs Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon, who possess larger builds, in those scenarios.

The Miami Dolphins were one of the NFL's worst teams on third down in 2024, converting just 36.3% of their third down attempts into first downs. A big reason they ended up 25th in the league in that category was their inability to regularly turn third and short into first downs.
