European foreign ministers told their Iranian counterpart in a call on Monday to return to nuclear negotiations with the U.S. and refrain from escalating conflict with Israel, to which Iran's foreign minister said Tehran's priority was to confront Israel for now,

Israel unleashed airstrikes across Iran for a third day and threatened even greater force as some Iranian missiles evaded Israeli air defenses to strike buildings in the heart of the country.

Indirect nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran, mediated by Oman, are postponed following escalating conflict. Israel launched extensive strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, resulting in casualties and retaliation from Iran with missile attacks.

The two sides were scheduled to meet for a sixth round of negotiations on Sunday. Oman, which was set to host the talks, said on Saturday that this round had been canceled.

A military spokesman from Israel said that Israel had achieved aerial superiority over Iran and had destroyed more than a third of Iran's surface-to-surface missile launchers.

In the early hours of June 13, Israel launched its largest-ever attack on Iran. Airstrikes involving more than 200 aircraft targeted nuclear and missile facilities, as well as key figures in the Iranian military and nuclear program leadership.

Imagining how Iran could possibly come back to the table after being so brutally attacked is admittedly difficult, until you think about how bad its other options are.
